I got a food journal!!!

(Maybe to most of you here this may seem like the most obvious thing to do and you are all doing it already)

I started writing in mine yesterday!!! I have to admit that this is my 3rd attempt at keeping a food journal, i have tried twice previously but i think the novelty of it wore off for me after a couple of days, and I was getting more frustrated because I would forget to add things that i ate, and my pages also looked messy-so it wasn’t ‘appealing’ to write in…

I also THINK i eat really healthy-because I am constantly told that by ppl.around me, so I thought that it’s not necessary for me to write everything i put in my mouth down on paper since I already do so well in this category- but, it’s surprising how quickly the calories add up (and for me how many healthy carbs-but still carbs I eat in the morning!)

I also watched Oprah a couple of days ago-and she had Carrie Underwood and other country stars on… Carrie Underwood flashed the camera her neat and organized food diary-i was shocked! And that’s when I thought “if she-a super-busy-superstar can keep one, AND keep it neat and tidy looking- not just scribbly, I can too!”

So i went out yesterday and tried to find one that would be easy for me to keeep neat (with lined papaer and margins) and it’s pretty and proffessional too- so I’m sure that this time I will WANT to write in it!

I know it’s just a little thing!!! But I am hoping that this new tool will bring me 1 step closer towards my weight loss goal!

No change…

Wow! I feel like like I have been working my butt off- and I can’t get below 140 lbs.!!!

I workout 5-6 days a week, doing 1 hour of cardio, and around 30 minutes of weights or strength training…

AND i don’t eat any carbs after 3 or 4 p.m. (well, except for fruits sometimes) so what am I doing wrong?!!!

I guess i better keep going at it though, because after I lost 2 pounds a couple of weeks ago- i had a terrible week with not my choice of food because i had to work everyday, i got my period and  I was sick (yep-ALL in the same week!) so it’s been 2 weeks since then, and my body had to recover… I guess my metabolism is not the same as when I was 21! (do you guys remember those quick diets in which you could shed the pounds without a sweat?!)

There is only 1 good thing that I can feel proud of recently:  After I broke my wrist in October-i stopped working out ALLTOGETHER, so i did nothing, I didn’t even cook or go to work.  I relied on prepared, packaged meals or the comfort-food meals my mom would wip up and bring to me….so, long-story-short, I think i regained ALMOST all my strength and endurance that I used to have last year when I was a gym-fanatic!

So now, I just want to start losing the weight before I get too discouraged!
